The Langham Sydney $30 million Refurbishment
The Langham Sydney has officially closed its doors to start the AU$30 million restoration that will see the hotel reopen on the 1st December 2014. GA Design, a leading London based architectural firm will be in charge of redesigning the hotel. In keeping with the high standards of the Langham, every piece of furniture will be custom made for this hotel, making it unlike any other in the world.
Palm Court – A 140 year old tradition that originated in London will be making its way to Sydney - afternoon tea. The Langham Sydney’s Palm Court will host the famed afternoon tea, where guests can enjoy the signature Tiffin Tea in a formal yet relaxed atmosphere. Notable features of the renovated Palm Court include a gold studded central banquette seating and a leather and stone bar which will serve a variety of cocktails throughout the night.
Kent Street Kitchen – The open and interactive layout will allow guests to enjoy an Australian dining experience in a luxurious setting. Notable features of the kitchen include free standing wine libraries; a large buffet table made of calacatta marble and oak floors.
Chuan Spa – The existing spa will see itself being transformed into a hub that is designed to restore the mind, body and soul through traditional Chinese practices. The Langham’s signature Chuan spa will pair contemporary Feng Shui and Chinese design with holistic approaches. The Chuan Spas around the world are consistently voted as some of the best and most luxurious spa experiences.
The Ballroom – The Ballroom will be expanded and increase its capacity by 50% to comfortably hold between 100 – 150 people in banquet style. The Ballroom itself will feature a rich and chic color palette.
