The What
We are looking for a travel guru to join the most exciting global Travel, Events and Entertainment Agencies. Looking after a diverse portfolio of clients will ensure you never get bored.
As a Senior Travel Specialist you will have a diverse and varied role. Theres never a dull moment. Here are just the basics that you will be you’ll be involved with:
- Planning, consulting, and delivering the end-to-end requirements of travel services, including air and ground transport, accommodation, insurance and other related travel services to corporate, VIP leisure and Group travel client accounts
- Provide expert consultation, backed up by delivery of travel logistics and practical client solutions, all done with accuracy, style and panache
- All the while keeping back-office requirements for bookings including invoicing, ticket reissues and payments for your accounts accurately
- Possible / probable offshore travel with groups
- Assisting less experienced consultants with questions and training

As a member of the events travel team, there may be some requirement to liaise with other team members in other regions and attend events. As a Senior Travel Specialist, you will thrive of taking responsibility, stretching yourself, and learning.
- Certificate, diploma or degree in tourism/travel OR in lieu of education, equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 3+ years of relevant experience within a travel agency
- Good knowledge and understanding of airfares, contracted fares, ticketing and reissues
- 3+ years GDS experience (Galileo preferred)
- Versed in booking flights, hotels and a good understanding of published airfares
- Experience handling VIP, entertainment clients and/or group travel
- Confident in using technology such as Microsoft Suite, Travelport Galileo, Tramada NG and the relevant online booking tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Well-established organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very moving dynamic environment
- Be a proactive self-starter
- Enjoy the challenge of chasing profit and sales targets , continually looking for opportunities to maximise revenue and margin through your ability to identify and sell value-add
- Possess a real desire to learn and teach as part of a high energy, fun team
The Where & When
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week), based in our Wellington or Auckland office. You will report into the Director of Events & Private Travel NZ, who is based in Wellington. There are other regional agent teams based in Australia, Singapore, the UK and US that you may work closely with, too.
