Events Travel Manager

TAG’s events division provides an end-to-end service. Managing events for regional and international clients. The team aims to deliver innovative, creative and excellent services to all stakeholders.
We are looking for a Smartpoint Galileo experienced, operationally savvy Travel Manager with the confidence in managing complex flight arrangements.
The successful candidate is available from mid-July for a period of 12 weeks.
The role is a fixed term contract to support the UK Events team with a large project for a key client and you will be office based in either London or Manchester 5 days a week for the term. There will be an element of client liaison and direct delegate management.
As part of the contract, you will be on site in the Netherlands for one week from 2-9 November 2019, so you must be able to travel freely.
Duties & responsibilities
- You will support the full time TAG Travel Manager for this project and will work closely alongside the team of event managers producing the event.
- You will have responsibility for booking flights as per delegate requests from a registration website, in line with the strict travel brief whilst able to raise any concerns or breach of the brief, in a confident and responsive manner to the overall TAG Travel Manager responsible for the flight project.
- Having the ability to work independently as well as part of the project team is essential as well as excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- You will be required to work on-site in the Netherlands during the event to support the wider project team and Logistics Manager with any airline and travel challenges, delays or cancellations and to manage any changes with the Logistics Manager accordingly. You will be required on-site from 4-8 November.
Knowledge & skills
Extensive travel experience and use of Galileo / Smartpoint.
Experience of complex large flight logistics alongside operational excellence is essential.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy essential.
Confident and able to adjust communication style to non-travel experts.
TMC based experience with knowledge of large events is a prerequisite.
