Grammy Awards 2016 winners

The 58th annual Grammy Awards took place Monday, February 15th, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

As many will know the Grammy, is an accolade by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) of the United States to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry. This is, without a doubt one of the most coveted awards on the music scene.

As every there will be some drama surrounding the event: everyone has been talking about Rihanna cancelling her comeback performance on doctors’ orders (we wish her well in her recovery). Lauren Hill failed to show up for her performance with the Weeknd, Adele and Justin Bieber had sound issues and Gwen Stefani’s double fell over during the performance. These hiccups aside the show was extremely successful.

Some of the big winners included Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift and the Alabama Shakes.

Taylor Swift’s 1989 won the most coveted award, the Album of the Year award, as well as, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video. Kendrick Lamar took home the most amounts of prizes, five in total: Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Song Collaboration, Best Music Video and Best Rap Album. In addition, Meghan Trainor won Best New Artist, while Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk won Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The night featured a series of performances by Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Adele and others.

The Appointment group is delighted to see so many of its clients were rewarded for their hard work and incredible talent. We are proud to be part of such a fantastic industry and enable these artists to play in venues, arenas and stadiums all around the world.
