‘Tis the season to be jolly! What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than a good playlist to move to? TAG’s Touring division has collated the top 10 Christmas tunes to complete the mood! Here’s our Top 10 Christmas songs of all time:

1. Merry Christmas Everyone - Shakin’ Stevens

It’s the joyful sound of ‘children playing having fun’, which is guaranteed to inject that euphoric Christmas-love vibe into the festive season. With its jolly rhythm and festive feel, this is a song you don’t want to miss this holiday season.


2. All I Want for Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey

The upbeat tempo and happy vibe of this tune will set you up in the right mood for Christmas. This classic always manages come back to the top of the charts every Christmas and it’s no surprise, as it is so enjoyable you won’t be able to help yourself from dancing and singing along with it. 


3. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas – Michael Bublé

One word: Bublé. 
You just want to cuddle up by the fire with hot coco and your loved ones when this song comes on! Blublé’s unique and warm voice combined with the lovely instrumentation on this track are what make this song an absolute classic.


4. Do They Know It’s Christmas – Band Aid 1984

This epic single, written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure, became a controversial song that exposed the pain and suffering from the 1983-1985 famine in Ethiopia. With a very dramatic video, and heart-touching music, it quickly became the fattest selling single in the UK chart history when it was released in 1984, perpetuating itself as a Christmas classic. 


5. Please Come Home for Christmas – Eagles 

With its mellow vibe and slow tempo, this is a lovely tune to play at home with some mulled wine or a hot chocolate… and definitely a great way to ask your loved one to come back home with you for Christmas.


6. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! – Dean Martin

Despite of not really mentioning Christmas at all, this song has also become a big Christmas classic due to its winter theme. It was first written by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne and it has been covered and re-recorded by many well-known artists such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.  


7. Last Christmas – Wham!

This famous love song became a sensation in 1984, when the epic duo Wham! released it along with their famous song “Everything She Wants”. Since then, it has come back every Christmas season and has been featured in many movies and covered by several famous artist and bands such as Whigfield, Billie Piper, Hillary Duff and Ariana Grande.


8. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – Judy Garland

Originally sang by legendary singer and actress Judy Garland, this song was introduced in 1944 for the musical Meet Me in St. Louis. Since then, it became one of the most famous tunes in American cinema and a Christmas classic. It has also been covered by many famous singers such as Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé.


9. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus – The Jackson 5

First recorded by Jimmy Boyd in 1952, this tune reached the No. 1 on the Billboard pop singles chart in that same year. Later on, it perpetuated as a Christmas classic with its Jackson 5 cover, which is probably the most famous today.  With its cheerful vibe and fun lyrics, this is definitely a song to add to your Christmas playlist.


10. Rocking Around the Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee

Taking you back to 1958, this Christmas original is the perfect tune to set you up in the right mood for this holiday season. With its contagious rhythm and catchy melody line, you will find yourself singing along to it and swinging side to side. 


Bonus Track: Jingle Bell Rock – Bobby Helms

First released in 1957, this song became classic Christmas tune, first in the US and then all around the world. Not only has it been played on the radio countless of times, but it has also been added to many TV commercial and movies, such as the all-time favourite, “Mean Girls”.
