Wonderfruit Festival: Thailand's answer to US’s Coachella and UK’s Wilderness festival
Wonderfruit Festival returns in 2016!
Taking place in Pattaya in Thailand, from 15th to 18th December 2016, Wonderfruit is Thailand’s pioneering sustainable festival of arts and music. Located in the lush tropical surroundings of the Siam Country Club, the setting is nothing less than stunning. At Wonderfruit, there will be no need for wellies, umbrellas and raincoats, instead think flip flops, sundresses, flowers in your hair and, last but not least, sunscreen!
Around 15 years ago, we all secretly dreamed of the man-made “utopian” community in the Danny Boyle directed film, The Beach. Well, at Wonderfruit there is little chance of bumping into Leonardo DiCaprio, but it does deliver on all of the other aspects. The programme is an eclectic mix of yoga workshops, art exhibitions, talks, music and delicious food.
The ethos of this festival is neatly woven through all of the fun and entertainment. The ecologically-conscious element is ever so important with the entire carbon footprint being offset by investing in the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve. Wonderfruit proclaims itself as “an annual celebration of art, music and life, where fun and social responsibility can go hand in hand” and that is the perfect way to describe the experience.
Revellers may opt for boutique camping on site to experience the beauty of the Thai countryside. If you are looking for somewhat of a more relaxed and luxurious experience, a range of hotel options are available in its vicinity.
In partnership with Wonderfruit, TAG is offering bespoke travel itineraries to the festival, including four-day admission passes.
