Business Development Manager - Events Overview:
We are looking for a full-time (40 hours per week) Business Development Manager who can support our growing Events department. As a Business Development Manager, you will have a diverse and varied role. You’ll collaborate with our global teams to support company initiatives and uncover innovative solutions, while taking a proactive approach to your day-to-day responsibilities. Weekend and on-call coverage may be required for this position.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Drive the growth and success of TAG Events by proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, qualification, pitching, proposal development, negotiation, and closing
Serve as the primary point of contact for new clients throughout the entire sales process
Build and leverage a strong professional network to attract prospective clients and expand market reach
Lead commercial discussions and negotiate pricing and contract terms in alignment with company objectives
Maintain accurate records in the CRM to track pipeline, client interactions, and lifecycle management
Represent TAG at trade shows, conferences, networking events, and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and generate leads
Identify opportunities to improve TAG Events’ offerings to meet and exceed client expectations
Collaborate with global sales and account management teams to share leads and support company growth objectives
Stay informed on industry and company developments to maintain expertise in travel, entertainment, and events sectors
Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and company goals
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
Minimum 5 years of experience within a travel agency
Strong knowledge of airfares, contracted fares, ticketing, and reissues
Experience with GDS systems, preferably Galileo
Proficient in booking flights and hotels, with a solid understanding of published airfares
Experience working with VIP, entertainment clients, and/or group travel
