Senior Event Manager Overview:
We are looking for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Senior Event Manager who can support our growing events department. As a Senior Event Manager, you will have a diverse and varied role. You’ll collaborate with our global teams to support company initiatives and uncover innovative solutions, while taking a proactive approach to your day-to-day responsibilities.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Plan and manage events from start to finish, ensuring alignment with requirements, target audience, and objectives
Deliver a comprehensive service from inquiry and proposal through to booking, execution, and post-event review, using a proactive and consultative approach
Manage all event logistics, including travel arrangements for delegates, health and safety compliance, budgets, finances, and vendor negotiations to maximise savings and profitability
Oversee multiple events simultaneously, maintaining high standards and a personalised approach for each client
Develop creative proposals, attend venue show rounds, entertain clients, and network within the industry to generate new and repeat business
Travel internationally as required to coordinate and oversee client events
Support and mentor team members, provide coverage during absences, and assist the Events Team to ensure smooth, effective, and profitable operations
Maintain attention to detail, meet deadlines, and ensure all tasks are completed promptly and accurately
Identify and escalate potential issues, suggest improvements to department practices, and proactively enhance functionality and efficiency
Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to company PCI requirements, expand industry knowledge through research and FAM trips, and promote positive working relationships across all levels of staff
Qualifications:
Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Event Management (or similar), or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
5+ years’ experience in the event industry (agency experience preferred), including delivery of 10+ international events
Proven experience managing $500K+ budgets and writing proposals
Experience coordinating air travel and booking flights in an airline reservations system (Galileo preferred)
Self-starter able to work independently or collaboratively, with strong customer service and negotiation skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail, excellent written/verbal communication, and strong problem-solving/multitasking abilities
Flexible and adaptable in fast-paced, high-pressure environments; able to prioritise and meet deadlines
