What it takes to work on ‘London has Fallen’

American action thriller ‘London has Fallen’ directed by Babak Najafi and starring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman is in cinema’s now.

This highly anticipated sequel to the 2013 blockbuster ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ will use, as the name suggests, London as the backdrop; The British Prime Minister has died under mysterious circumstances and his state funeral is by all leaders of the Western world. What starts out as the most protected event on Earth, turns into a deadly plot to kill the world's most powerful leaders and change the course of history. The only hope of stopping this threat rests on the shoulders of the U.S. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart), his formidable US Secret Service lead agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), Vice President Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman), and a British MI6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one.

Filming began on 24th October 2014 in London and from day one out team explained: “Our challenge was to get cast and crew from LA to Europe, back home for the Christmas break starting in the late November and back over in time to resume filming in London around February 2015. For some part of the film, part of the crew was also flown to Sofia in Bulgaria to record further sequences”.

“As with any large scale production the main challenges are coordinating schedules. Various groups of people are expected on set at different times, get it wrong and the repercussions could be a costly and serious affair. Furthermore, travellers will not stay in one location for the entire duration of the project, various return trips will be made for weekends, breaks and other commitments.”

The team adds: “You need to react quickly, solve problems and always remain budget conscious. Producing a film is like working with a regular company, they have strict budget in place that need to be met. It is my responsibility to give them the best product and service, with far as little money as possible.”
