Why conference organisers should choose Valencia

The appeal of long-haul can sometimes overshadow alternative European incentive and conference destinations, but top event management companies should take a closer look at what the continent has to offer. Sam Robson, Group Events Director at The Appointment Group (TAG), waves the flag for Europe ˗ with a particular focus on Valencia.

As security becomes an increasingly important global issue, reducing risk is a key consideration for many when it comes to location selection and international travel management. As an experienced global travel company, TAG knows that choosing a European destination can open up amazing possibilities for two- or three-night locations ˗ all within easy reach of London, Manchester and most other main UK airports. It also makes a perfect add-on for long-haul visitors from Asia Pacific and the USA.

As one of the top ten event management companies, TAG makes it its business to uncover under-the-radar destinations and venues to hold events and conferences. Take a look at the attractive city of Valencia, for example, which is often overlooked by incentive travel planners and conference planning companies.

Located on the east coast of Spain, some 200 miles south of Barcelona, this is the country’s third largest city ˗ and it has plenty to offer. It enjoys a quite spectacular total of 320 sunny days a year, along with an average year-round temperature of 19˚C.

There’s no shortage of attractions either. This is the former home of the Spanish F1 Grand Prix event and the European base for the America's Cup. Valencia boasts nine beaches, as well as an abundance of UNESCO-protected historical buildings. You will also discover a large, colourful market and futuristic architecture in the form of the City of Arts and Science. Ask TAG to organise your event to take place in March and your group can enjoy the local Fallas Festival, La Mascletà day, and night-time fireworks, plus an array of gigantic hand-built sculptures that can be found dotted around the city.

As an experienced global travel company, rest assured that TAG has insider knowledge. We know that the luxurious 5-star Hotel Balneario Las Arenas offers flexible meeting spaces, beach access and walking distance bars and nightlife ˗ it’s a great place to stay during your corporate incentive trips or to hold your conference. Of course, no visit is complete with sampling the local paella made from rice grown in the area's own rice fields in Albufera. You can also pay a visit to the Moto GP circuit in the nearby village of Cheste and take a spin around the course. Round your experience off with a pit stop at Valencia's newly opened beach club for a sundowner.

This charming city beautifully blends antiquity and modernity, and it is well-equipped to cater to your corporate incentive travel and conference requirements.
