American Airlines explains holiday scheduling error

Updated on: 7 December 2017 @ 15:59

Earlier this week, American Airlines (AA) shared that a processing error resulted in some concern as to whether flights over the December holidays would have adequate pilot staffing. The Allied Pilots Association have put that worry to rest to make sure flights will operate as scheduled.

Despite the holiday scheduling error, American Airlines (AA) have not cancelled any scheduled flights in December. The airline has announced that out of the 200,000 flights scheduled to operate in December, only a few hundred are currently unassigned to pilots. AA has an increased number of reserved pilots on hand in December than normal months providing the airline with the ability to fly many of the trips that are currently uncovered.

We will be sure to let you know as soon as there are any further announcements.
