Roadworks & disruption to rail services affecting London Gatwick Airport this weekend

The following disruption to the road and rail network, may affect journeys to and from Gatwick Airport; M23 Junction 10 and 9 (northbound) roadworks There are planned roadworks that may impact your journey to or from the airport. Starting on Friday 12th January 2018, roadworks will be taking place to resurface the M23 northbound between Junction 10 and 9 (Gatwick). There will be a full carriageway closure from 22:00 on Friday evening to 04:00 on Monday morning over the following weekends: Friday 12th to Monday 15th January Friday 19th to Monday 22nd January Friday 26th to Monday 29th January Friday 2nd to Monday 5th February Only the northbound carriageway is affected by these works and a signed diversion route will be in place. The southbound carriageway will be open as normal for all traffic to Gatwick/Brighton. Disruption to services between Three Bridges and Brighton On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th January, and Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th January, a limited train service (taking approx. 90 minutes) will operate between Three Bridges and Brighton/Lewes in both directions. Regular buses will replace the rail service. Ongoing disruption to Southern overnight rail services to and from Gatwick Southern Rail is making a key change to overnight services from London Victoria to Gatwick and Brighton to enable Network Rail to carry out essential engineering works. Which services will be affected?
  • On Sunday - Thursday nights there will be no Southern trains departing after 00:05 and before 04:52 operating to or from London Victoria to Gatwick Airport/Brighton.
  • There will be no overnight Gatwick Express services between 23:30 and 05:00.
  • Passengers with Southern tickets will be able to use Thameslink services from London Blackfriars to travel between central London and East Croydon, Gatwick Airport/Brighton. Late evening and overnight Thameslink services will call additionally at Purley, Coulsdon South, Merstham, Redhill and Horley, with some trains also running to Haywards Heath and Brighton.
  • Southern services will run as normal on Friday and Saturday nights.
