Alitalia network expansion to Nairobi and Johannesburg

Alitalia continues its strategy of network expansion and has recently announced the launch of two new intercontinental destinations in Summer 2018: Nairobi starting from 28 March and Johannesburg from 8 April. The airline goes back to Kenya and South Africa after more than 16 years of absence. Flights to both destinations will operate four times per week from Rome Fiumicino airport.

Alitalia has also just started operations to New Delhi (India) and Male (Maldives).

The new routes are operated by the newly designed Airbus A330 aircraft, equipped with exclusive Made in Italy amenities and offering three classes of service: Magnifica (Business), Premium Economy and Economy.

Magnifica guests can relax in luxurious Italian brand Poltrona Frau leather seats that fully recline to a comfortable flatbed position, and enjoy award-winning onboard dining featuring the best of Italian regional food and wine. Alitalia’s new "Dine Anytime" meal service allows guests to decide when they prefer to dine. All classes feature newly renovated cabins and include Wi-Fi connectivity for phone calls, Internet and e-mail. Travellers in premium economy can relax in a quiet cabin with dedicated services. Also in economy class, Alitalia commits to delivering maximum comfort and quality of service.

Members of Alitalia's MilleMiglia loyalty programme can earn and redeem miles on the new services.

Other long-haul destinations which have been launched recently are Santiago de Chile, Mexico City, Beijing and Havana.
