Hurricane Irma is affecting flights to and from the Caribbean and Florida - Update

Hurricane Irma is travelling over Florida and is expected to affect coastal areas of Georgia and South Carolina from the morning of Monday 11th September 2017, and parts of North Carolina from Monday afternoon.

Airports in Cuba will remain closed until safe. The authorities in Puerto Rico, Florida, the US Virgin Islands, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina have declared a state of emergency.

Flights to and from the Caribbean region and southeastern U.S. are affected by Hurricane Irma.

The eye of Irma is expecting to continue moving westward away from the Turks and Caicos Islands and toward the southeastern Bahamas today. The core of the hurricane will then move between the north coast of Cuba and the Bahamas, before it impacts Florida late Saturday and into early Monday.

A Hurricane Warning is in effect for:
• Jupiter Inlet southward around the Florida peninsula to Bonita Beach
• Florida Keys
• Lake Okeechobee
• Florida Bay
• Haiti from the northern border with the Dominican Republic to Le Mole St. Nicholas
• Southeastern Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands
• Cuban provinces of Camaguey, Ciego de Avila, Sancti Spiritus, and Villa Clara
• Central Bahamas
• Northwestern Bahamas
