Hurricane Jose is affecting travel in Northeastern U.S. - Update

Tropical storm warnings have been issued for parts of coastal southeast New England due to Hurricane Jose's approach to the region on Tuesday night or early Wednesday, 20th September. If you are traveling to or from the northeastern United States over the next few days, expect delays and cancellations of flights.

Affected airports are:

  • Boston, Massachusetts (BOS)
  • Hartford, Connecticut (BDL)
  • Islip, New York (ISP)
  • Newark, New Jersey (EWR)
  • New Haven, Connecticut (HVN)
  • New York Kennedy, New York (JFK)
  • New York LaGuardia, New York (LGA)
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PHL)
  • Providence, Rhode Island (PVD)
  • Stewart Newburgh, New York (SWF)
  • White Plains / Westchester County, New York (HPN)

Hurricane Jose is now following a similar path to Hurricane Irma and is expected to disrupt services and transport in the north-eastern Caribbean over the weekend and into next week.

The path of the hurricane is currently forecast to veer north into the Atlantic and is not predicted to landfall on the USA.

A Hurricane alert is in effect for:

  • Antigua, Barbuda, and Anguilla
  • Sint Maarten
  • St. Martin
  • St. Barthelemy
