Sydney Airport welcomes additional train services

Sydney Airport has welcomed the announcement by the NSW Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance that Transport for NSW will increase the frequency of trains on the T2 Airport Line from later this year.

Minister Constance announced that the State Government will provide an additional 200 airport train services per week by the end of 2017. This will result in average waiting times for a train to or from Central Station and the airport’s Domestic and International stations of approximately 7.5 minutes during off-peak hours on weekdays and throughout weekends, and a reduction from 30 minutes down to 15 minutes late at night.

Sydney Airport’s five-year ground access improvement program is due for completion one year ahead of schedule and is being complemented by the NSW Government’s own upgrades to the road network around the airport.
