Upcoming daylight saving time clock changes in Australia

Daylight saving time in parts of Australia starts on Sunday 1st October 2017 at 02:00 am, clocks are turned forward 1 hour to 03:00 am.

Clocks will spring forward by 1 hour in the following areas only:

  • Australian Capital Territory
  • New South Wales
  • South Australia
  • Tasmania
  • Victoria

On Lord Howe Island, which is a part of New South Wales, clocks move forward 30 minutes instead of 1 hour.

Clocks will not change in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia; or in Christmas Island, Cocos Island and Norfolk Island.
