The Best Places to visit in September

Dreaming of a trip abroad? Here are our best places to visit in September

Portugal

Portugal has long been a favourite European destination thanks to a temperate climate, diverse terrain and sumptuous hospitality. September is an ideal time to visit, avoiding the earlier heat of the summer, whilst still capitalising on the sunshine.

And with the grape harvests in full swing, it’s a wonderful time to visit the country’s many wineries, tasting and sipping your way through this spectacular country. We’d recommend an evening at the exquisite Quinta do Bom Retiro Estate after a day cruising down the Douro river.

Losinj, Croatia

Wellness and self-care have come centre stage over the past year and Croatia’s ‘Island of Wellness’ is just the place for those looking to stop, relax and recharge.

The island itself is renowned for it's pure air and clean seas, as well as being home to a unique blend of natural sea aerosols, abundance of medicinal plant life and essential oils. During your stay experience a range of meaningful healing therapies, including a Concerto No.6 massage, perfectly choreographed to the famous Austrian composers that brought the Vienna philharmonic to its glory during the turn of the century.

Morocco

Whether you’re looking to get lost for hours in medieval medinas, explore the solitude of shifting sand dunes by camel or float high above the Atlas mountains in a hot air balloon, Morocco has it all.

With the scorching heat of the summer behind you, September offers more opportunities to go sightseeing from the vibrant souks of Marrakesh to the wind-whipped surf beaches of Essaouira.

For those of you looking for a little luxury, private cookery classes, hanging out with fashion designers or staying in a pop up beach camp with a private chef are all available.

Costa Rica

September is one of the two rainiest months in Costa Rica. What is often overlooked though, is that the rain tends to hit the pacific side of the island, leaving the Caribbean side of the island is calm and sunny. This little known fact means that the island is usually at it’s quietest during this time – making it the perfect month to visit.

Explore Corcovado National Park in search of tapirs, ocelots and spider monkeys, bliss out on an oceanfront yoga retreat with views to die for or soar in a helicopter above a smoking volcano. How ever you decide to spend your time, relax into the pura vida way of life that the Costa Ricans follow, and experience genuine hospitality from a nation ecstatically proud of its surroundings.
