Air New Zealand Expands Asia Capacity

Air New Zealand has revealed updates to its capacity and network this summer, with the confirmed return of two routes, and extended pause on another, and additional capacity into other markets. The airline will return to Hobart and Seoul in October 2024 after both were paused over the New Zealand winter period. 

Qantas Boost Business Travel With Free Wi-Fi on International Flights

Scheduled to roll out by year's end, Qantas is gearing up to introduce free, high-speed Wi-Fi across its global routes. According to the airline, a quarter of Qantas' domestic customers use the airline's Wi-Fi to stream video, with another 15-20% streaming audio. 

United Airlines Launches Preferred Seat Type Waitlist Feature

United is rolling out a feature which it says will make it easier for its customers to get their desired seat type "even if their preferred seat isn't available during booking." Passengers can now visit the carrier's mobile app to request their preferred seat type, and will be automatically assigned and notified about their new seat assignment, should it become available. 

Singapore Airlines' (SIA) Scoot Accepts Southeast Asia's First Embraer E2 Aircraft

SIA's low-cost subsidiary, Scoot, has taken delivery of the first of nine new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. This marks the first time a Singapore carrier is introducing an aircraft from the Brazilian manufacturer. 

LATAM to Relaunch Sydney Nonstop Service

From 28 October, South America's LATAM Airlines Group will bring back its nonstop Sydney-Santiago flight, operating four times a week. The nonstop Sydney-Santiago flight will save around four hours of flight time. 

All Nippon Airways (ANA) to Offer Free Inflight Wi-Fi in Business Class

Beginning this summer, ANA will offer complimentary inflight Wi-Fi for business class passengers. The free inflight Wi-Fi service will initially not be available on three 212-seat Boeing 777-300ER units, which also do not feature the airline's new signature THE Room business class product, as well as six 767-300ER aircraft.
