Heathrow Refuelling Workers Call off 72-Hour Strike

A planned 72-hour strike by refuelling workers at London Heathrow for later this week has been called off, after the dispute about pay and conditions was settled. The union's announcement comes as Heathrow is affected by a four-day strike this week by Border Force staff, who are in dispute with the Home Office. In addition, 800 passenger services staff at Heathrow are currently set to walk out for seven days fom 7-13 May. 

Aer Lingus Fully Restores North American Network

Aer Lingus has restarted flights from Dublin to Minneapolis-St. Paul airport for the first time in four years. The airline will operate four flights per week on the route using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, which includes upgrades to business class services such as a new inflight menu.

Southwest Airlines to Begin Offering DOT-Required Vouchers

Southwest must now provide a transferrable voucher worth at least $75 for any controllable cancellation or delay that causes passengers to reach their destination three or more hours after their scheduled arrival time.

Hilton Launches Zero Waste Menus Across Flagship UK Hotels


According to UNEP's Food Waste Index Report 2024, one billions tonnes of food is wasted each year; the food services industry contributes to over a quarter of this waste. UK Government Aims to Avoid Airfare Increases As It Unveils SAF Mandate


The UK government has published the details of its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) mandate which will ensure 10% of all jet fuel on flights taking off in the country comes from sustainable sources by 2030. Subject to parliamentary approval, the mandate will come into force in January 2025 and estimated a SAF industry estimated to create more than 10,000 jobs.
