Singapore Airlines to Boost Services Across Network Next Season
Singapore Airlines (SIA) will ramp up services to destinations across its network during the Northern Summer 2024 operating season (31 March 2024 to 26 October 2024), supporting “the strong demand for air travel to its key markets.”

British Airways Doubles Amount of Inflight Entertainment Content Available on Board
Since the start of the year, British Airways has doubled the amount of content available for customers to watch on its inflight entertainment system (IFE).
The airline now has more than 75 complete boxsets and 20 classic franchises on board, along with 50 new movie releases, including Love Again, Paint and The Covenant.
Hotel Prices in Paris Skyrocket During the 2024 Olympics
Hotels in Paris are looking forward to the 2024 Olympic Games. A few of them have already released their prices for the summer of 2024. However, the prices for the same room can be five to six times higher than current rates.
China Southern to Return to Brisbane With the A350-900
Starting 17 November, China Southern Airlines will fly to Brisbane from Guangzhou, four times a week. Stakeholders say the service could grow to daily operations within two years. China Southern will operate its most modern widebody aircraft to Brisbane, the Airbus A350-900.
Report: Global Business Travel Prices “Seem to Be Levelling Off”
According to the latest forecasts by CWT and the Global Business Travel Association, the business travel industry “could now be looking at the true new cost of travel.”
The 2024 Global Business Travel Forecast states that “more subdued price increases” are expected over the next 12-18 months—following “skyrocketing” prices last year that were driven by pent-up leisure travel demand, rising fuel prices, labour shortages and supply chain challenges.
Pullman Hotel and Conference Centre Open in Sydney’s Penrith Suburb
Accor has opened the latest property under its Pullman Hotels and Resorts brand, as part of a new $110 million development in Sydney’s western suburb of Penrith.
The building—which also houses the new Western Sydney Conference Centre—features a ribbon-like shape inspired by the nearby Nepean River, and is set among landscaping with more than 75 trees and 8,000 plants.
Cathay Upgrades Queensland Flights
From 1 December, Cathay Pacific will increase its services to Brisbane from four flights per week to six per week. The oneworld airline also will upgrade the route to the higher-capacity Boeing 777-300ER from the Airbus A350. Exporters in Queensland have been desperate to have capacity to Hong Kong restored, Brisbane airport says.
