Air New Zealand Crowned World's Safest Airline in 2024

AirlineRatings.com released their list of the top 25 safest airlines. The ratings are based on several factors, including industry-leading safety initiatives, expert pilot training assessments, fleet age, profitability and more. Air New Zealand tops this year's list, taking the top spot from Qantas.

Qantas to Take Off From the Top End of Singapore

Qantas has announced it is launching a second international route from Darwin, with direct flights from the Northern Territory to Singapore. Currently, the Qantas Group operates 18 routes from Darwin, Alice Springs and Uluru.

Thai Airways to Return to Western Australia

Starting 31 March, Thai Airways will continue its daily service between Bangkok and Perth. Perth Airport Chief Commercial and Aviation Officer, Kate Holsgrove, said it was fantastic to see the airline return with nonstop daily service. 

Heathrow's Passenger Traffic Reached 79 Million in 2023

After welcoming 6.69 million passengers last month, Heathrow's total passenger traffic for 2023 reached just over 79 million. The airport’s T5 terminal also recorded its busiest year since its 2008 opening, surpassing 33 million passengers.

Cathay Pacific Airways Strengthens its Sustainable Aviation Fuel Programme

 

Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Airways continues to make strides towards achieving its goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Following the launch of its Corporate Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Programme in 2022, Cathay has announced the addition of three new partners to the programme. 


Australia Proposes New Law Requiring Mandatory Climate Reporting for Companies

The Australian government announced the release of new draft legislation. This would introduce mandatory climate-related reporting requirements for large and medium sized public companies required to provide audited annual financial reports to the ASIC.
