Amsterdam Schiphol Declares Limited Reduction in 2024 Capacity

Amsterdam Schiphol said cutting back capacity is required for peak travel times "to allow for safe and stable operations." Previous plans leading to a more substantial reduction were adjusted from 280,000 to the current plan allowing 293,000 flights. 

SAS to Expand European Network for Summer 2024

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) plans to add nine new routes from its Denmark and Norway hubs from the end of June to mid-August. Flight frequencies will vary, but travellers can expect convenient options to Ibiza, Montenegro, Stockholm and more.

EU Airlines Unaffected by Grounding of Some 737 Max Aircraft

Following the Alaska Airlines' flight incident in the US on 6 January, European airlines were not affected by the grounding of some Boeing 737-9 Max aircraft. "The 737-9 aircraft operation in Europe do not have this configuration and are therefore not ground by the EAD and can continue to operate normally," said the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.

AirlineRatings.com released their list of the top 25 safest airlines. The ratings are based on factors including industry-leading safety initiatives, expert pilot training assessments, fleet age, profitability and more. Air New Zealand tops this year's list, taking the top spot from Qantas.

Air France to Serve 23 North American Cities This Summer

The carrier announced daily flights from Paris to US cities like Minneapolis will resume, and Paris-Raleigh-Durham service will extend into the 2024 season. The North American routes join the airline's European expansion to seven new destinations.
