Korean Air Explores Lisbon Route With Seasonal Charters 

SkyTeam member, Korean Air, will launch scheduled charter flights to Lisbon between 11 September and 25 October 2024. The airline will operate three weekly flights between its Seoul Incheon hub and the Portuguese capital, departing from Seoul every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.  

Korean Air to Launch Daily Macau Service

Korean Air is launching a new daily service between its hub at Seoul Incheon International Airport and Macau from 1 July. The airline will deploy its two-class Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the Macau route. 

Air Japan Launches Singapore Changi Route

On 27 April, Singapore's Changi Airport welcomed Air Japan's inaugural flight to Singapore. Air Japan now offers five weekly services between Tokyo Narita and Singapore on its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. 

Australian Airline, Bonza, Grounds All Flights

Australian start-up airline, Bonza, has entered voluntary administration and suspended all flights, with "discussions currently underway regarding the ongoing viability of the business." The low-cost carrier launched services in January 2023, offering regional domestic flights operated by four Boeing Max 8 aircraft.

IHG to Open "Zero-Energy" Hotel Indigo at Singapore Changi


Singapore Changi Airport has announced plans for a new hotel attached to its Terminal 2 under IHG's Hotel Indigo brand. The 255-room hotel will be connected to the terminal building by a walkway, and is being described as "the first zero-energy hotel in Singapore, and potentially the first zero-energy airport hotel in the world."


 

Singapore Airlines Group Agrees to SAF Deal With Neste


Singapore Airlines Group has agreed to a deal to buy 1,000 tonnes of neat sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from specialist supplier, Neste. The neat SAF will be blended with convention jet fuel and delivered to Singapore's Changi Airport's fuel hydrant system in two batches, in the second and fourth quarter of 2024.
