A look back at TAG APAC's record-setting 2019

It has been a record 12 months for TAG’s APAC operation and we couldn’t let the year pass by without reflecting on some of the highlights from 2019.

Alongside TAG’s global operation, the APAC team has chalked up its biggest year yet with a growing team and rapidly expanding client base.

The APAC Events team delivered a host of remarkable events and activations across the year.

In November, the APAC events team designed and delivered a once in a lifetime trip to Peru for winners of a 12-month sales incentive program for a global manufacturing client. With only 10 VIP guests, the event was personal and exclusive with ‘once in a lifetime experiences’ to Machu Picchu and a unique Amazon cruise.

The team also produced in conjunction with one of our Australia clients a study tour to Africa; Cape Town & Zambia, with the key objectives and theme being ‘culture’. With globally renowned speakers that had worked alongside Nelson Mandela this created a great kick off to the event in the amazing city of Cape Town.

Once in Zambia the group participated in creating a new maternity ward for one of the local villages and this is something that will continue to be developed and supported by the event attendees well into the future.

In 2019 TAG’S APAC Film and Media division went truly global working on a wildly diverse list of productions that took our clients around the world.

There was the Amazing Race Australia which saw contestants battle it out across numerous continents, while acclaimed documentary The Australian Dream stunned audiences both here and abroad. It was also a huge year for our friends at The Project who celebrated 10 Years on air with some of their biggest shows to date.

Working with the Events Team, TAG also once again was official travel partner for Screen Forever – the region’s largest film and media conference held in Melbourne – which brings together the best and brightest film makers from around the world.

Speaking of global, APAC Touring had its biggest year yet not only supporting Australian acts touring the world, but handling logistics for major international acts touring the region.

There are too many highlights but supporting U2 across APAC on their massive international tour was as challenging for the team as it was rewarding – others included The Cure for Vivid Festival, and tours for both Noel and Liam Gallagher.

TAG also cemented its position as an integral part of Australia’s booming festival scene working on a wide range of events including Splendour in the Grass, Good Things and helped present the first, and hugely successful, Listen Out Festival Tour.

2019 was also a year of major growth for TAG APAC’s Corporate division with an ever-expanding team driving a massive 12 months.

Closing out the year in style, the team recorded record three months back-to-back in September, October and November and are going from strength to strength.

That growth was driven by a diverse set of new clients joining TAG across the year including AJE Fashion, TaylorMade Golf, Longchamp Australia, PreGel Australia, Co.As.It, Mad Mex, MAG Australia and Crown World Mobility. The team also grew on a range of key partnerships including the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Australia).

2020 is looking bright for TAG's Corporate department and with some pending new technology on the way, Corporate will make its competitors take a very nervous look over their shoulder.

Meanwhile in Singapore, TAG’s presence across Asia continues to become more prominent with the office’s most successful year yet which also saw the launch of TAG’s presence in Hong Kong.

Looking after an incredible mix of clients, the year started with season three of Asia’s Got Talent before moving on to work on major events including All That Matters – Asia’s most important music and media conference.

Touring through Singapore continues to grow rapidly with the office working on a range of major shows including U2, RL Grime, Yuna and the JJ Lin Sanctuary 2.0 World Tour which included shows on Australia, Malaysia and Singapore.

All in all, it’s been an incredible year for TAG APAC and we thank all our long-term clients for their continued support and new clients for joining the family.

Now, bring on 2020!
