TAG Appoints Troy Rayner to Senior Account Manager

On Tuesday, TAG proudly announced the appointment of Troy Rayner as Senior Account Manager in the APAC region. With his exceptional leadership, Troy will be instrumental in fostering strong connections and firmly establishing TAG as a prominent presence in the sports travel landscape.

Troy is a seasoned professional with a 17-year journey in the travel industry, including extensive experience in retail and corporate, as well as sports and entertainment travel. Over the past decade, Troy has shifted his focus exclusively to the sports and entertainment industries, partnering with renowned organisations, including Football Australia, SANZAAR, Cricket Australia, AusCycling, Bowls Australia and Motorsport Australia.

“Bringing Troy on board has been an exceptional decision for our organisation. His extensive experience and dedication to excellence in the travel industry align perfectly with our goals,” said Shane Barr, Managing Director of TAG APAC. “We're thrilled to have him as a valuable addition to our team and look forward to widening our scope to include tailored travel for the sporting industry.”

Troy has played an integral role in some of the biggest events in sport. Notable highlights include his role as Head of Operations for the Travel Management Company during the 2015 Asian Cup Football Tournament, contributing to the success of the 2017 Rugby League World Cup, elevating the 2020 T20 Women's Cricket World Cup and the 2022 T22 Men's Cricket World Cup.

I am proud to have worked with some of the most prestigious names in sports and entertainment, and I look forward to continuing this journey, contributing my extensive knowledge to TAG and making an even greater impact on the industry,” Troy explained.

Troy’s announcement follows two months after TAG and SANZAAR Pty Limited announced a strategic and corporate partnership that will result in successful travel management across the world of sport.

Both announcements highlight the strategic move into a new genre for TAG, after we have previously perfected group movements and multi-itinerary entertainment travel in both touring and production. With this niche expertise, sport naturally fits into TAG’s DNA to confidently manage the complexities that are involved when supporting the group movements of sport.

Barr continued, “This marks the start of an exciting new chapter for TAG. With our wealth of expertise and the dynamic leadership of Troy, we are poised to create a substantial transformation in travel solutions for the sporting industry.”
