SNCB and NS to Add New Belgium-Netherlands Link
SNCB and NS, the national rail operators in Belgium and the Netherlands, are set to double services between Brussels and Amsterdam with a new InterCity link that will complement existing high-speed operations.
United Airlines Extends Bag Drop Shortcut Service to Heathrow
United Airlines customers departing London Heathrow can now use the carrier’s Bag Drop Shortcut. The service works in conjunction with the United app to allow customers to check in their bag “in a minute or less on average." It was initially trialled at Newark in 2021, and has since been rolled out at airports across the US, with Heathrow being the first international location to offer the service.
European Hotel Prices Continue Rising This Summer
According to the latest data from hotel analyst STR, global hotel prices have continued to accelerate this summer, led by higher rates in Europe.
Worldwide average daily rate (ADR) rose by 6.3% in July compared with the same month last year, with prices in Europe seeing an even bigger year-on-year rise of 13.4% during the month.
Delta to Launch Flights Between Dublin & Minneapolis
Delta is to compete directly with Aer Lingus by launching a new transatlantic route between Dublin and Minneapolis-St Paul.
The US carrier will begin flying this new service on 9 May 2024 with services operating five times per week. Delta will offer this route as a seasonal summer route next year.
Qantas to Return Final A380s to Service
Qantas Group has provided an update on current and planned international capacity levels, as well as new and returning aircraft joining its fleet.
The group says it is now operating at around 80% of pre-COVID international capacity levels. This figure is expected to reach 100% by March 2024, and to increase beyond 2019 levels from July next year.

Delta Opens New Newark Sky Club
On 23 August, Delta Air Lines relocated to Terminal A from Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport. With the move Delta has opened a new Delta Sky Club, the carrier announced Wednesday.
