Qantas Scraps Expiry Date on COVID-19 Travel Credits  

The Qantas Group will remove the expiry date on COVID-19-related travel credits that were due to run out at the end of this year, the Australian carrier announced on Thursday, 31 August.

Qantas customers with COVID-19 credits related to bookings up to and including 30 September 2021, can now choose to use credits to book travel until 31 December 2023 or request a cash refund. Meanwhile, customers of its low-cost subsidiary Jetstar will be able to use COVID-19 vouchers for flights indefinitely.

Delta Sky Way at LAX Transformation Complete, 18 Months Ahead of Schedule  

Delta Air Lines and Los Angeles World Airports have unveiled the final major phase of the $2.3 billion Delta Sky Way at LAX project, with Terminal 3 at Los Angeles International Airport now directly connected to the Tom Bradley International Terminal via moving airside walkways, officially eliminating the need for busing between terminals.

Qantas to Return Final A380s to Service .png

Qantas Orders More A350 & 787 Aircraft for A330, A380 Replacement

Australia’s Qantas Group has announced what it calls “the final piece of its jet fleet renewal program,” with a firm order for 24 aircraft to progressively replace its existing Airbus A330 fleet. 
 
The order is split between 12 Airbus A350s and 12 Boeing 787s, arriving from FY27 into the next decade.

Japan Airlines (JAL), oneworld Alliance member, will increase the frequency on a number of routes from late October.  

The airline says this is in response to a steady increase in travel demand for both business and leisure customers to and from Japan.  

JAL highlights that inbound tourism has been flourishing as a result of a weaker yen.

Auckland-based Air New Zealand says that in response to high demand across its regional and domestic network, the airline has ordered two additional Airbus A321 neo aircraft and two more ATR72-600 turboprops.  
 
These new aircraft will deliver into the Air New Zealand fleet from late 2024.
