Delta to Debut Premium Lounge Concept at JFK, Los Angeles and Boston This Year
Delta has outlined plans for several new and expanded lounges in 2024, including the much-anticipated debut of its new "premium lounge" concept. The carrier said that access guidelines for the lounges "are still being finalised."
Experience April's Solar Eclipse From the Sky on This Special Delta Flight
Delta will be launching a special solar eclipse flight that will fly along the path of totality, allowing passengers to experience the eclipse at 30,000 feet. Flight 1218 will depart from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) at 12:15 P.M. CT and arrive at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) at 4:20 P.M. ET.
KLM to Increase Schedule Across Europe This Summer
KLM has released its summer schedule featuring increased flight frequencies across Europe, amounting to a 7% increase in seat capacity compared to summer 2023. The airline will serve 155 destinations and see the extent of its overall schedule "almost matching pre-COVID levels."
American Airlines' New Loyalty Restrictions
Beginning on May 1st, American Airlines AAdvantage loyalty programme members—outside of AAdvantage Business members or contracted corporate travellers—will only earn miles or credits for flights booked directly through American, its partners or a "preferred" travel agency.
TAG is a preferred travel agency with American Airlines. AAdvantage members will continue to receive loyalty benefits when booking through TAG.

KLM Uses AI to Reduce Food Waste
AI technology is being employed to help determine the number of meals that need to be loaded for any particular flight, based on the fact that not everyone who has booked actually ends up flying. KLM said the system "means the most accurate possible number of passengers is predicted for the entire catering process from purchasing to loading, thus preventing a surplus of meals."
