Curtains Up: JFK’s Second Delta Sky Club Steps Into the Spotlight
The nearly 14,000-square-foot Club, which seats more than 250 guests and includes a covered Sky Deck, will operate alongside the Club on Terminal 4, Concourse B. Together the two Clubs will have capacity at JFK for more than 800 guests, simultaneously.
Singapore Airlines Offers New Luggage Collection Service
Singapore Airlines is launching a new luggage collection service in London through a partnership with AirPortr. The carrier will offer the service to passengers flying from Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2 who are staying within the area located within the M25 motorway.
Virgin Atlantic Announces Date for World's First Transatlantic Flight Powered by SAF
Virgin Atlantic will operate the world’s first transatlantic flight using 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) later this year, following completion of a successful ground test.
The project, first announced in December, will see the airline operate a Boeing 787 between London Heathrow and New York’s JFK Airport powered entirely by SAF made primarily from waste oils and fats.
Carriers' On-Time Performance Slumps in June
North American carriers' average on-time performance in June dropped more than 10 percentage points from May, according to Cirium's monthly report. June on-time performance was 66.1% compared with 78.7% in May.
The Top 10 Busiest Airports in the World - Five of Which Are in the US
Airports Council International, the trade association of the world’s airports, recently released its annual ranking of the busiest airports in the world.
The United States dominated the list, with half of the airports in the top 10 spread across the country.
United to Add New, Expanded Routes to Pacific Network
On Tuesday, United Airlines announced plans to increase its Pacific network with new or expanded direct routes servicing Hong Kong, Manila, Taipei and Tokyo from the US.
On 29 October, United will launch daily, year-round service between San Francisco and Manila, using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The carrier currently serves Manila via Guam and Palau, and that service will continue along with the new route, according to United.
