Virgin Australia Unveils New Cabins in Fleet-Wide Upgrade
Last weekend, more than 3,000 Virgin Australia team members and their families celebrated the arrival of the airline’s first fuel-efficient Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.
Fresh from the Boeing factory in Seattle and featuring that new plane smell, the Max 8 aircraft marks an important milestone in the transformation of Virgin Australia with its fleet renewal programme well underway.
Priority Pass Adds 13 Lounges in Indonesia
Priority Pass members now have access to 13 new lounges across Indonesia, thanks to an agreement between owner, Collinson, and hospitality provider, Blue Sky Group.
The additional options include lounges at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International, Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International in Balikpapan, and Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International in Palembang.
COMO Metropolitan Singapore to Open in September
COMO Hotels and Resorts is set to launch its first hotel in its home country of Singapore this autumn.
COMO Metropolitan Singapore will open in phases from September and occupy 11 floors of the 19-floor, mixed-use COMO Orchard building, located at 30 Bideford Road. The hotel will be the first of the spaces in the building to launch and will include 156 rooms and suites, along with a rooftop pool bar for guests.
Qantas Adds Extra Flights for Concertgoers
Australian oneworld Alliance member, Qantas, has added more than 60 additional flights to and from Sydney and Melbourne to make it easier for interstate and New Zealand concertgoers to travel in an era of high demand.
The additional flights are scheduled between 15 February – 27 February 2024, and are currently available for booking, including 24 flights between Sydney and Melbourne; 20 flights between Sydney/Melbourne and Adelaide; 6 flights between Sydney and Perth; 8 flights between Sydney/Melbourne and Christchurch; and 8 flights between Sydney/Melbourne and Wellington.
Moxy to Debut at Sydney Airport
Moxy Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy, will open Moxy Sydney Airport on 1 September. The new property will be just steps away from Sydney’s domestic airport, a 10-minute drive from Sydney International Airport, and 20 minutes from Sydney’s Central Business District.
Moxy Sydney Airport will offer an unconventional hotel experience, with its stylish, industrial design, as well as 301 small but smart bedrooms, vibrant communal spaces, 24/7 dining options, flexible working and meeting spaces and social service – all at an attractive price point.
United to Add New, Expanded Routes to Pacific Network
United Airlines plans to increase its Pacific network with new or expanded direct routes servicing Hong Kong, Manila, Taipei and Tokyo from the US, the carrier announced Tuesday.
On 29 October, United will launch daily year-round service between San Francisco and Manila, using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The carrier currently serves Manila via Guam and Palau, and according to United, that service will continue along with the new route.
