France’s Air Traffic Controllers to Strike 15 September

Get ready for more flight disruptions in Europe. Air traffic controllers in France are set to go on strike 15 September as their main union—Le Syndicat National des Contrôleurs du Trafic Aérien (SNCTA)—is fighting for a compensatory revaluation based on rising inflation. 

The strike happens to coincide with the Rugby World Cup, taking place in France from 8 September to 23 October 2023. Venues for the event are located in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux, Saint-Étienne, Nice, Nantes and Toulouse.

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce will quit his role two months earlier than planned—just days after the Australian airline was accused of selling tickets for thousands of flights that it had already cancelled.

During the next six months, Finnish citizens who are travelling on Finnair flights from Helsinki airport to the UK can now register as voluntary Digital Travel Credentials (DTC) users.
