Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2)

The Appointment Group (TAG) would like to inform you further to the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) legislation that came into effect on 13th January 2018, TAG will be complying with its legal obligations and as such will be removing any surcharges moving forward on consumer card payments in the UK.

This new regulation was put in place to prevent the surcharging of consumer cards (Visa and Mastercard consumer debit and credit cards) in the EEA.  However, surcharging of unregulated corporate cards is still permissible, such as Lodge Card/Business Travel Account products and company cards settled by the business, not the individual.

At a later date, TAG may look to review existing transaction fee schedules in-line with the additional costs being absorbed by the business, however nothing has been reviewed at this time.

If a client makes use of a TAG Credit Card to facilitate a booking, the current admin fees will be unaffected and still apply.
