Immigration Delays: European passengers face huge delays this summer

Airports in Spain, France, Italy, Belgium and Portugal face immigration queues of up to four hours. Thousands of flights recently had to be delayed because EU border controls are significantly understaffed to comply with tightened immigration checks — some passengers even missed their flights.

Qatar Airways boosts Colombo service to four daily non-stop flights from 1st August 2017

Qatar Airways has announced it will introduce a fourth daily non-stop service from Doha (DOH) to Colombo (CMB) from 1st August, 2017. In addition two of the four daily flights will be serviced by the B777-300ER aircraft to accommodate the increased travel demand to and from Sri Lanka.

Third daily flight on the Tokyo - Los Angeles route announced by ANA

Strong passenger demand prompts All Nippon Airways (ANA) to open its third direct flight from Tokyo to Los Angeles bringing the total of daily flights to three; two from Narita Airport and one from Haneda Airport. ANA has decided to increase the number of flights on the route between Tokyo (Narita) and Los Angeles, from Sunday, 29th October 2017.

United Airlines introduces Boeing 777-300ER to additional routes

United Airlines announced additional Boeing 777-300ER service, the airline's newest aircraft type featuring the all-new United Polaris business class seats, to its flight schedules. Etihad Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways - All electronics devices allowed onboard US flights

If you are travelling with Etihad Airways or Emirates to the United States from Abu Dhabi International Airport and Dubai International Airport, you are now permitted to carry all electronic devices on board. Additionally, the US Immigration facility at Abu Dhabi Airport allows you to clear US immigration and customs formalities before you fly to the US, instead of after landing.

Japan Airlines introduces new JAL SKY SUITE configured Boeing 787-9

Japan Airlines (JAL) has been introducing the JAL SKY SUITE configured Boeing 777-300ER/-200ER, Boeing 767-300ER, and Boeing 787-8/-9 onto select international routes under the theme of “raising the notches one class above in all cabin services. ” JAL announced that the JAL SKY SUITE 787 family will welcome a new cabin configuration for its Boeing 787-9.

China Airlines offering nonstop flights to London from December

China Airlines announced that it will begin flying the Taipei-London (Gatwick Airport, LGW) route on December 1st. The new A350 fleet will be deployed to offer 4 flights a week, making China Airlines the only airline in Taiwan to offer non-stop flights to London.

Lufthansa expands its long-haul network: New destinations from Munich and Frankfurt in summer 2018

Cathay Pacific to extend successful Betsy Beer promotion

Cathay Pacific announced the extension of its Betsy Beer promotion, which will see the high-quality craft beer, specially brewed to be enjoyed at 35,000 feet, offered on flights between Hong Kong and Europe, Canada, the United States, Japan, New Zealand and Tel Aviv over the coming months. Named after “Betsy”, Cathay Pacific’s first aircraft, a Douglas DC-3 which flew passengers around the region in the 1940s and 1950s, Betsy Beer was first introduced on flights between Hong Kong and destinations in the United Kingdom – Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester – in March, while services to Australia followed suit in April.
