Qantas unveils first Dreamliner, Great Southern Land

TSA raising aviation security baseline with stronger domestic security measures

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has implemented new, stronger screening procedures for carry-on items at Southwest Florida airports, including Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Punta Gorda Airport (PGD).   The new procedures, announced earlier this year, require travelers to place all electronics larger than a cell phone in bins for X-ray screening in standard lanes.

Qatar Airways upgrades to A330 service to Seychelles to meet increased passenger demand

Qatar Airways has announced plans to upgrade service on its Seychelles route to an A330 aircraft, starting 29th October 2017. Qatar Airways increases frequencies to Eastern Europe and the Nordics

Qatar Airways has doubled its frequencies to a number of destinations in Eastern Europe and the Nordics, following a significant increase in passenger demand to the popular destinations of Prague, Warsaw and Helsinki. Commencing mid-December, the airline will introduce an extra daily flight on each of the routes to meet the growing inbound and outbound travel demand by adding an Airbus A320 service, offering an additional 132 daily seats in both directions.

Cathay Pacific increases services to Barcelona, Tel Aviv and Fukuoka

Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific’s regional carrier Cathay Dragon will be increasing the frequency of its services between Hong Kong and Fukuoka from 18th December 2017. The airline will initially operate an additional weekly flight to Japan’s fifth largest city, bringing the total number of flights per week to eight, increasing to 11 flights per week between 14th January and 24th March 2018.

Air Canada expands its global network with new and enhanced services to Europe, South America and Africa for summer 2018

Air Canada announced new non-stop services to begin next summer from Toronto and Montreal, including three new destinations in its global network – Bucharest, Zagreb and Porto – and a new route between Montreal and Lisbon. In addition, the airline will enhance existing year-round service between Montreal and Casablanca by transferring the route to Air Canada mainline from Air Canada Rouge.
