Alitalia - Industrial Action 5th April 2017

Members of Italian trade unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Ugl-Ta, USB and CUB have confirmed 24-hour industrial action on 5th April 2017. To minimize disruptions, Alitalia has been forced to cancel several flights and modify its domestic and international flight schedule between late evening on the 4th April and the early morning of the 6th April.

Emirates introduces Laptop/Tablet handling service for US flights

Emirates customers traveling to the US via Dubai will be able to utilize their laptops and tablet devices on the first part of their journeys, and also during transit in Dubai. They must then declare and hand over their laptops, tablets, and other banned electronic devices to security staff at the gate just before boarding their US-bound flight.

United Airlines is enabling customers to move through the screening process quicker at its hub at Newark Liberty International Airport with the opening of a fully redesigned and consolidated security checkpoint in Terminal C. The redesigned checkpoint, which includes dedicated Premier Access and TSA Precheck® security lanes, features 17 state-of-the-art automated screening lanes, making Terminal C the first checkpoint in the country to exclusively feature the new lanes.

Etihad Airways to launch A380 flights to Paris

Etihad Airways is introducing its award-winning A380 on the Abu Dhabi – Paris route this summer. France ATC strikes 6th-10th March 2017

ABTA has advised that UNSA-ICNA, the third largest union for air traffic controllers in France, has called for 5 days of strike action from the 6th until the 10th March 2017. As a result of the proposed industrial action, it may be necessary for airlines to make adjustments to flights that are scheduled to operate to and from France during the strike hours.

Delta Air Lines new Nashville to Raleigh-Durham service

Delta is linking Nashville, Tennessee and Raleigh-Durham, North Caroline with new nonstop service in June, becoming the first airline to offer both First Class seating and a business traveler’s schedule on the route. Two daily round-trip flights between Tennessee’s Capital City and North Carolina’s Research Triangle will run on a Delta Connection 76-seat jet with room for 12 customers in First Class, 12 in Delta Comfort+ and 52 in the Main Cabin.

More than 20 new routes for Air France and KLM
