Cathay Pacific’s Manchester service to go daily from December

Cathay Pacific announced that its current four-times-weekly Hong Kong to Manchester service will become a daily operation from 1st December 2017. From June onwards, the Airbus A350-900 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER on all flights to Manchester, making it the second Cathay Pacific destination in the UK, after London Gatwick, to receive the technologically-advanced aircraft.

Delta, Virgin Australia strengthen trans-Pacific network with L.A.-Melbourne service

Delta and joint venture partner Virgin Australia celebrated the expansion of their trans-Pacific network with the launch of Virgin Australia’s direct service between Los Angeles and Melbourne. Virgin Australia now operates five weekly flights between Melbourne and Los Angeles using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, giving Delta customers direct access to Melbourne.

Emirates presents Microsoft Surface tablets loan service to US-bound First and Business Class customers

First and Business Class passengers will be able to borrow tablets on board Emirates’ US-bound flights allowing them to continue working during their flight. The new service is in response to the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) directive which requires all passengers travelling on non-stop flights to the US from Dubai to check-in their laptops, tablets, and other personal electronic devices larger than a smart phone.

Breeze through boarding with British Airways

British Airways is transforming its customers' airport experience by becoming the first UK airline to introduce automated biometric technology throughout the airport – with the launch of self-service boarding gates. Following a successful trial last June, the first three boarding gates for UK domestic flights departing from Heathrow Terminal 5 are now open and more than 4,000 customers have already benefited from the new technology.

Delta Comfort+ now offered on CRJ-200 aircraft

Etihad Airways’ luxurious Dreamliner commences daily services into Amman

Etihad Airways has started operating its state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the Abu Dhabi – Amman route, as part of its daily schedules between the two capitals. The new two-class Dreamliner features the airline’s next-generation Business and Economy Class cabins, featuring 299 seats - 28 in Business Class and 271 in Economy Class, representing a 65 per cent capacity increase on the route.

Alitalia - Industrial Action 5th April 2017

Members of Italian trade unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Ugl-Ta, USB and CUB have confirmed 24-hour industrial action on 5th April 2017. To minimize disruptions, Alitalia has been forced to cancel several flights and modify its domestic and international flight schedule between late evening on the 4th April and the early morning of the 6th April.
