Qatar Airways upgrades to A330 service to Seychelles to meet increased passenger demand

Qatar Airways has announced plans to upgrade service on its Seychelles route to an A330 aircraft, starting 29th October 2017. The 260-seater A330 aircraft will increase the airline’s current daily capacity by 130 per cent on this route, connecting Seychelles-based passengers to more than 150 destinations globally.

American Airlines announces new flights from Philadelphia

American Airlines is giving its customers more access to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) from the Midwest and Texas. New service from PHL to San Antonio begins February 15th 2018, followed by service to Des Moines, Iowa; Madison, Wisconsin; and Omaha, Nebraska, May 4th 2018.

Qatar Airways increases frequencies to Eastern Europe and the Nordics

Qatar Airways has doubled its frequencies to a number of destinations in Eastern Europe and the Nordics, following a significant increase in passenger demand to the popular destinations of Prague, Warsaw and Helsinki. Commencing mid-December, the airline will introduce an extra daily flight on each of the routes to meet the growing inbound and outbound travel demand by adding an Airbus A320 service, offering an additional 132 daily seats in both directions.

Cathay Pacific increases services to Barcelona, Tel Aviv and Fukuoka

Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific’s regional carrier Cathay Dragon will be increasing the frequency of its services between Hong Kong and Fukuoka from 18th December 2017. The airline will initially operate an additional weekly flight to Japan’s fifth largest city, bringing the total number of flights per week to eight, increasing to 11 flights per week between 14th January and 24th March 2018.

Air Canada expands its global network with new and enhanced services to Europe, South America and Africa for summer 2018

Air Canada announced new non-stop services to begin next summer from Toronto and Montreal, including three new destinations in its global network – Bucharest, Zagreb and Porto – and a new route between Montreal and Lisbon. In addition, the airline will enhance existing year-round service between Montreal and Casablanca by transferring the route to Air Canada mainline from Air Canada Rouge.

Virgin Atlantic reaches new heights in Manchester

Virgin Atlantic has announced its biggest ever season of flying from Manchester Airport, with nearly 40,000 more seats available to book in 2018. Flights to both New York JFK and Atlanta have been upgraded and will now be operated by both the A330 and the largest aircraft in Virgin Atlantic’s fleet, the Boeing 747, which boasts 455 seats per aircraft, providing even more opportunity for holiday-makers and businesses across the North West to get to the US than ever before.

World first airline connections service announced as easyJet, Norwegian and WestJet partner with GatwickConnects

A new partnership announced creates the world’s first global airline connections service by a low fares airline and will see passengers seamlessly self-connect with different airlines through Gatwick in a single transaction. Emirates to introduce additional flights to Stockholm

Emirates announced that it will introduce three additional flights per week to the Swedish capital, complementing Emirates’ existing schedule and providing more choice to travellers from 8th December 2017. The three new weekly flights will enhance Sweden’s global long-haul connectivity, offering passengers travelling from Stockholm the chance to reach over 70 Emirates destinations in Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East.

Upcoming daylight saving time clock changes in Australia

Daylight saving time in parts of Australia starts on Sunday 1st October 2017 at 02:00 am, clocks are turned forward 1 hour to 03:00 am. Clocks will spring forward by 1 hour in the following areas only: Australian Capital Territory New South Wales South Australia Tasmania Victoria On Lord Howe Island, which is a part of New South Wales, clocks move forward 30 minutes instead of 1 hour.

British Airways launches new Indian Ocean route

From 24th March 2018, British Airways customers will be able to fly direct from Heathrow Terminal 5 to the Seychelles, making British Airways the only airline offering a non-stop service from the UK. Scattered across the Indian Ocean and famed as some of the most idyllic islands on the planet, flights will take to the skies twice-a-week from March to October and will be operated by the airline’s newest fleet of aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Hurricane Jose is affecting travel in Northeastern U.S. - Update

Hurricane Jose is now following a similar path to Hurricane Irma and is expected to disrupt services and transport in the north-eastern Caribbean over the weekend and into next week. The path of the hurricane is currently forecast to veer north into the Atlantic and is not predicted to landfall on the USA.

Emirates to launch fourth daily service to Sydney, Australia

Emirates is set to introduce a fourth daily service from Dubai to Sydney from 25th March 2018, complementing its existing three daily A380 services and improving connections globally. Air Canada expands non-stop services to Ireland from Toronto and Montreal

Air Canada announced expanded seasonal services to Ireland with new non-stop flights from Toronto to Shannon and between Montreal and Dublin. The flights will be operated using Air Canada's newest single-aisle aircraft, the Boeing 737 Max 8 featuring a Business and Economy cabin configuration.
