Singapore Airlines forges ahead with Digital Innovation Blueprint

Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced the launch of its Digital Innovation Blueprint through the unveiling of key bilateral partnerships with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), Economic Development Board (EDB) and National University of Singapore (NUS). The Digital Innovation Blueprint is part of SIA’s ongoing transformation programme under which it is significantly boosting its digital capabilities.

Qantas’ Dreamliner to operate Brisbane – Los Angeles from 1st September 2018

British Airways invests in substantial new catering for World Traveller customers

British Airways is announcing a multi-million pound investment in its World Traveller (long-haul economy cabin) catering, introducing an exciting and expanded new menu, which provides more quantity and quality to both meals and great snacking options throughout the flight. Options now include: Pretzels with the welcome drink Four-course meal with starter, main, dessert, cheese and biscuits, accompanied by a bread roll and bottle of water Second meal or substantial snack depending on the length of the flight Regional meal options served according to destination Magnum ice-creams Tuck box with chocolates and crisps Hot breakfast on longer overnight flights Graze movie-snack box on longer* flights Complimentary drinks from the bar [gallery columns="2" size="large" ids="21451,21453"] Previously customers travelling in the cabin were served a complimentary snack, a three-course-meal or a light meal, depending on the time and length of their flight as well as a complimentary bar service of hot and cold drinks.

Etihad Airways introduces new baggage policy

Etihad Airways has introduced a new baggage policy tailored to varying customer requirements in the international markets it serves. The changes allow for a simpler baggage structure as the allowance for all markets, excluding the US and Canada, is now based on total weight rather than the number of bags checked in.

Singapore Airlines to launch Melbourne-Wellington services and daily flights to Canberra

Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced that it will introduce a new service that will connect Singapore and Melbourne to New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington. The new service will be introduced as part of a restructuring of existing Singapore-Canberra-Wellington flights, which will see the Canberra-Wellington flights de-linked and Canberra served on a daily basis, up from the existing four times per week.

Roadworks & disruption to rail services affecting London Gatwick Airport this weekend

The following disruption to the road and rail network, may affect journeys to and from Gatwick Airport; On Sunday - Thursday nights there will be no Southern trains departing after 00:05 and before 04:52 operating to or from London Victoria to Gatwick Airport/Brighton. There will be no overnight Gatwick Express services between 23:30 and 05:00.

Star Alliance, Air China and Beijing Capital International Airport agree joint cooperation

In a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board (CEB) meeting in Beijing, Star Alliance, member carrier Air China and Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) have agreed to closely cooperate to further establish Beijing Capital International Airport as a leading hub and transfer airport as well as to significantly enhance the future customer experience. Under the MoU, the parties will cooperate to co-locate all Star Alliance member airlines in the same airport terminal.
