New Position: Corporate Travel Coordinator

Division: Corporate

Job type: Travel Coordinator

Location: Australia (Sydney)

Salary: DOE

The Who

In 1988, our founders had an ambitious dream to form the largest specialized travel company in the world – to set the example of how touring and travel should be done. The belief that travel is one of the most emotive experiences you undertake and our ambition to make this experience the absolute best it can be for the traveller, has become the guiding principle for TAG.

We believe that through a bespoke, high-touch and personal service, we can alleviate the stress and complexity of travel. So, whether it is a business meeting to close a deal, an event to meet industry peers or a gig for 50,000 screaming fans, we will get our clients to where they need to be feeling ready to take on the world.

The Why

At TAG, our company values matter.  We appreciate our staff working as a Team, having Ambition and being Genuine.

You will have a passion for the job you do, as well as a drive to want to do better – in return, TAG will support your growth and development, as well as offer opportunities to progress or maybe even change tack!

The What

As a Corporate Travel Coordinator, you will have a diverse and varied role. Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with:

  • Plan and sell a range of travel services, including air and ground transport, accommodation, insurance and other related travel services to allocated corporate client accounts on a domestic level only
  • Fully service all enquiries, requests, bookings, and ticketing to TAG standards, including documentation, and assist more junior colleagues on more complex enquiries
  • Ensure all air, rail, hotel and/or other ancillary reservations meet company standards and client expectations and ensure client and booking files are maintained in relevant systems
  • Formulate logistical itinerary plans to deliver practical travel solutions, ensuring that budgets and specific client requirements are met
  • Handling VIP travel to the necessary standard
  • Deal with any post-booking queries, rectifying any requested changes and efficiently processing reissues where required
  • Effectively manage any travel problems, changes or disruptions and assist with handling complaints or refunds
  • Negotiate or utilise negotiated rates from suppliers to secure beneficial financial outcomes for TAG
  • Have awareness of and successfully deliver profit and sales targets in relation to own client portfolio, continually looking for opportunities to maximise revenue and margin
  • Operate in accordance with client service level agreements (SLAs) and TAG policies and standards
  • Complete all PNR’s and files accurately and promptly, ensuring all QC points are met as standard
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and form strong client and supplier relationships
  • Assisting less experienced consultants with questions and training

The How

To be successful at TAG is as much about mindset and attitude as it is about skill-set and qualifications. We’re a team who share the same desire and passion to go above and beyond for each and every client. We revel in making the seemingly impossible possible, always rising to the challenge with ambition and a genuine, open attitude.

We work flexibly to accommodate our TAG team colleagues, meaning on occasion there could be requirements ‘outside of office hours’ to manage time zones and other work commitments.

As a Corporate Travel Coordinator, there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn, are equally important.

  • Certificate, diploma or degree in tourism/travel (preferred)
  • 1-2 years relevant experience in the travel industry experience
  • Experience booking domestic flights and hotels through GDS, and a good understanding of published airfares
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment, to work in a pressurised and demanding environment, to work to agreed deadlines and be able to prioritise workload
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be organised and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment
  • Ability to accept instructions or directions and see through to completion
  • Ability to multitask

The Where and When

This is a full-time role 37.5 hours per week based in our Sydney office.  Since March 2020 we have operated a flexible, hybrid approach to working and will continue to do this moving forward.  We will work with you to find the best mix of office and home working that suits your life and the needs of the team.

You will report into the Team Lead, who is based in Sydney.  There are other regional HR teams teams based in Singapore, UK & US that you may work closely with too.
