The What  

As a Tour Operations Supervisor you will have a diverse and varied role. Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with:  

  • Support divisional management with the daily function of all touring business within the London office to achieve an effective, successful and profitable operations
  • Supervise the work of Touring team Specialists and provide operational assistance, mentoring and coaching
  • Fulfil all requests for TAG’s key tour client accounts
  • Formulate logistical itinerary plans within client budgets and create tour movement sheets ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout
  • Respond to queries and book travel arrangements, keeping all relevant records accurately updated
  • Design and create detailed PowerPoint presentations for artist hotels
  • Action and complete GDS and PNR tasks, TAG Desktop files, and any other applicable system tools or software implemented at TAG
  • Negotiate best rates from suppliers to maximise savings, reduce client expenditure and increase company profitability
  • Assist team members with complex travel itineraries, ticketing, refunds and reissues
  • Adhere to PCI and Anti-Bribery regulations in accordance with Company policy
  • Carry out reporting activities as requested and required
  • Cover general Tour Operations Manager duties during times of absence
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time
  • Lead by example to demonstrate professionalism, promoting positive working relationships, complying with company and external policies or procedures, and delivering a quality service
  • Nurture and strengthen positive and valuable relationships with clients and key suppliers to retain repeat business and a highly regarded profile
  • Proactively maintain industry knowledge and skills to improve agent performance and productivity
  • Suggest ideas for improved practices within Touring or TAG generally and assist with any applicable testing or implementations.  Share cross-divisional and global business opportunities
  • Support TAG’s PSP. Log and report any supplier favours or gifts to departmental management
  • Approach all duties proactively, promptly, effectively, efficiently, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Attend agreed and relevant training and Lunch & Learn sessions, familiarisations, supplier presentations and events etc. to maintain comprehensive industry and product knowledge
  • Engage daily with Microsoft Teams to ensure awareness of important team communication
  • Bring any issues to the immediate attention of relevant Touring team management. Escalate anything of significant concern straight to the Tour Operations Director

As a Tour Operations Supervisor there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn, are equally important. 

  • Education to Degree level in Travel & Tourism or related subject or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
  • 3+ years Touring travel management experience 
  • Extensive GDS experience, preferably Galileo
  • Experience of supervising a team
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Service oriented with effective communication, negotiation and customer-service skills
  • Approachable and collaborative across all TAG departments with the ability to maintain positive and valuable client, supplier and colleague relationships
  • Self-motivated, supportive and able to interchange being a team-player with autonomous independent work
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills with an appreciation for timely responses/actions and meeting strict deadlines
  • Consistent attention to detail, high levels of accuracy and ability to work within changing priorities with continued enthusiasm
  • Active and continuous personal development to remain a knowledgeable and skilled expert in Touring travel management
  • Able to demonstrate adherence to departmental, company and industry processes and procedures, and seeks to suggest improved practices
  • Initiative and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to find solutions in a calm and considered way under pressure
  • Flexibility to working hours and days in consideration of dates and times for client tour arrangements and TAG global offices based across different time zones

The Where and When 

This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) based in our London office. 

You will report into the Operations Manager, who is also based in London. There are other regional teams based in Manchester, the US and APAC that you may work closely with, too.
