New Position: Travel Specialist

Division: Operations

Job type: Travel Specialist

Location: UK (London or Manchester)

The Who

In 1988, our founders had an ambitious dream to form the largest specialized travel company in the world – to set the example of how touring and travel should be done. The belief that travel is one of the most emotive experiences you undertake and our ambition to make this experience the absolute best it can be for the traveller, has become the guiding principle for TAG.

We believe that through a bespoke, high-touch and personal service, we can alleviate the stress and complexity of travel. So, whether it is a business meeting to close a deal, an event to meet industry peers or a gig for 50,000 screaming fans, we will get our clients to where they need to be feeling ready to take on the world.

The Why

You will have a passion for travel, but more than that you will thrive on using that passion to create unforgettable experiences for your clients. Your willingness to go the extra mile and make the seemingly impossible, possible, will shine through everything you do.

At TAG, our company values matter.  We appreciate our staff working as a Team, having Ambition and being Genuine.  We live and breathe these values, so anyone wanting to become a TAGstar will need to share these ideals and demonstrate them every single day.

The What

As a Travel Specialist you will have a diverse and varied role. We have six distinct divisions: Touring, Productions, Investment Management, Corporate and Private, where we service clients ranging from international rockstars to CEOs of multinationals. You are not an order taker, you are an experienced professional, using your knowledge and expertise to make your clients’ experience the best it can possibly be.

Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with:

  • Client management:  Our clients are everything to us. You will manage your client portfolio’s travel requirements while anticipating and understanding individual client preferences and needs. This will involve responding promptly to requests, resolving issues, investigating complaints and immersing yourself in their culture.
  • Logistic planning: Formulate logistics plans to meet your clients’ needs. You will ensure that their trip runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible, making cost and time savings wherever you can.
  • Relationship building: Develop strong relationships internally, with your clients and suppliers to build long term partnerships
  • Cost management: Work with external suppliers and our internal procurement teams to continually negotiate the best rates and deals from vendors to reduce client expenditures.
  • Accounting queries: Work closely with our Finance department to reconcile any accounting discrepancies and see them through to resolution

The How

To be successful at TAG is as much about mindset and attitude as it is about skill-set and qualifications.  We’re a team who share the same desire and passion to go above and beyond for each and every client.  We revel in making the seemingly impossible possible, always rising to the challenge with ambition and a genuine, open attitude.

As a Travel Specialist there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn, are equally important.

  • Attention to detail: Our clients expect the highest level of service, so a keen attention to detail is critical for success
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be incredibly important in this role. You will need to work with a variety of people, internally and externally, communicating important information clearly and concisely.
  •  Flexibility: Travel is not 9-5. We work flexibly to accommodate our clients, our TAG team colleagues and our suppliers meaning on occasion there could be requirements ‘outside of office hours’ to manage time zones and other work commitments.
  • Industry knowledge: Ideally you will have two or more years experience in the travel industry. A strong knowledge and understanding of airfares, contracted fares, ticketing, ticket exchanges and hotel reservations is important.

The Where and When

We have a range of full-time and part-time roles based in either our London or Manchester office.  You will report into a Divisional supervisor, who will be based in London or Manchester. We have a strong management network, as well as other regional teams based across the UK, USA and APAC.

The Important Bit

As passionate as you may be about changing the face of travel, let’s be honest – you're not doing this for free. So, here’s our promise to you:

  • Competitive salary DOE
  • Healthcare cash-back scheme
  • Wellness/EAP programme
  • Employee discounts
  • Enhanced employer pension contributions
  • Service-based holiday entitlement

We are also committed to offering an equal opportunity for all employees and applicants.
